It started innocently enough, with the duck
\nthing<\/a>, and slid right along with the roast turkey
\nchallenge.<\/a><\/p>\n

Then there was the choux<\/span> done
\nproper-like:<\/p>\n

to accompany the rock cornish hens (stand ins for perdrix<\/span> this year):<\/p>\n

(There is cabbage in there, between the hen-halves & the toast
\npoints:  trust me!).
\n 
\nFinally, for good measure, some coq
\nau vin<\/span> to round things out.  This was done a
\nla Alton Brown (Good Eats)<\/a>.  I had to hold it over a day, so I
\nbrought the components out of the fridge:<\/p>\n

\nand mixed them together, to heat:<\/p>\n

Mmm!  Purple chicken!  Doesn’t get much better than that \ud83d\ude09
\n.  Really, the chicken is cooked in that picture; the 2 bottles of
\nPinot Noir (Trapiche) had something to say about the colour, though.<\/p>\n

Heated up and served, it was perhaps more appealing:<\/p>\n
