I had one (delicious) ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze (approx 200yds), and I wanted something that would be wide enough to cover my shoulders and provide just a little bit of extra warmth with a jacket.\u00a0 No need to tie in the front or have any fussy folding in front.<\/p>\n

I turned to the Branching Out pattern, and added 6 extra stitches on either side (3 more garter stitches and some eyelet).\u00a0 This produced a scarf that was some 11″ wide, and 47″ long (blocked) — perfect!\u00a0 Weighing in at less than an ounce, it’s the sort of thing I can easily have in my purse or bag, and pull out in chilly meeting rooms, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
