A delightful pattern from Morehouse Farms.\u00a0 Once I saw the picture, I could not not knit these for a young hedgie-fan friend.<\/p>\n

I used the Green Mountain Spinnery Alpaca Elegance that I had on hand, and a\u00a0 few feet of brown Koigu KPM from a sock project for the nose.\u00a0 I made the adult size small — which is probably far too large for anyone other than an adult with a large hand.\u00a0 Will wear well with a small liner mitt.<\/p>\n

The “quills” are made by casting on 4 stitches and immediately casting them off, every other stitch — it’s a fair bit of work, but having stiff needles with a sharp point is a lot of help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
