{"id":53,"date":"2008-11-12T21:51:43","date_gmt":"2008-11-13T02:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knitbot.org\/blog\/2008\/11\/12\/to-frog-or-not-to-frog\/"},"modified":"2008-11-12T21:51:43","modified_gmt":"2008-11-13T02:51:43","slug":"to-frog-or-not-to-frog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.knitbot.org\/blog\/2008\/11\/12\/to-frog-or-not-to-frog\/","title":{"rendered":"To Frog or Not to Frog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I was writing the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.knitbot.org\/blog\/2008\/11\/06\/knitting-design-perils\/\"><br \/>\nentry about my current sweater design effort<\/a>, I surprised myself by<br \/>\nreaching the tentative conclusion that I should rip the whole thing<br \/>\nback (frog it) and do something more compelling with the lovely<br \/>\nyarn.&nbsp;&nbsp; I really had not thought about that before sitting<br \/>\ndown and writing out the text.&nbsp; It was an interesting revelation<br \/>\nthat had to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>I reflected on it for a couple of days.&nbsp; And, I reviewed my very<br \/>\nold blog entry (see here, and scroll down to &#8220;Knitting Broccoli&#8221;) about<br \/>\na previous effort that I slogged through and eventually had to<br \/>\nfrog.&nbsp; I compared the projects.<\/p>\n<p>In the end &#8212; I think I will <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">not<\/span><br \/>\nfrog the current design effort, at least not yet.&nbsp; While I am not<br \/>\nwild about the colour combinations, I do feel I am still committed<br \/>\nenough to the project that I am checking important things like length<br \/>\nand other measurements.&nbsp; I am not at all convinced that there <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">is<\/span> a different pattern of these<br \/>\nsame colours that would really cause me to whip through a sweater<br \/>\nproject at this time.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I&#8217;ve been travelling &#8212; travel<br \/>\nprojects make better progress.&nbsp; Quelle surprise.&nbsp; I do still<br \/>\nbelieve I will be happy to wear the resulting sweater if I just finish<br \/>\nit, AND I believe that I am making progress (albeit slow) towards<br \/>\ncompleting it reasonably.&nbsp; That&#8217;s a really long-winded way of<br \/>\nworking my way to the point that I<br \/>\nthink my biggest problem is that I am not spending much time on large<br \/>\nknitting projects at home, and ANYTHING is going to take a long time to<br \/>\ncomplete.<\/p>\n<p>Somehow, that didn&#8217;t stop me from buying 6 skeins (a sweater&#8217;s worth)<br \/>\nof <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tropicalyarns.com\/index.cfm?PID=11&amp;ProdID=1244\">Araucania<br \/>\nAzapa<\/a> (colourway Cornflower) today &#8212;
